Agile transportation through integration
Klabin has an integrated, robust logistics system that coordinates road, rail and maritime transportation for distributing its products throughout Brazil and around the world. In 2025, even amid a turbulent period for global maritime logistics due to geopolitical issues, the Company surpassed the milestone of 1 million metric tons of products exported in containers and 100,000 tons exported through this same mode in the month of December alone, corresponding to approximately 4,700 40-foot containers.
This record result cements Klabin’s position as Brazil’s largest exporter of goods shipped in dry containers (source: Datamar).
These strong results can be attributed to the engagement of internal teams and suppliers, integration between the logistics area and other sectors at Klabin, strategic process management and infrastructure investments made by the Company in recent years. Our export performance underscores the importance of the Klabin Container Terminal, which centralizes the rail transport of pulp and paper produced at the Monte Alegre and Ortigueira plants in Paraná to the Port of Paranaguá, also located in Paraná. This facility has the capacity to store 2,500 containers simultaneously and is connected to the Paranaguá Container Terminal (TCP) by rail.
The Klabin Port Terminal maintained its productivity in line with expectations in 2025. The terminal’s main feature is its capacity to load pulp bales and rolls, as well as paper, directly into ships’ holds (breakbulk mode).
For 2026, the key word is efficiency, with a focus on maintaining the strong indicators achieved. The expectation is that deliveries under Stage B of the Smart Project will support teams in process management. In addition, a new system will be implemented to enhance governance and control over container shipments, increasing productivity and efficiency in export processes.
Coastal shipping and logistics efficiency in Klabin’s operations
Some of the ships departing from the Port of Paranaguá in Paraná continue on to other ports along the Brazilian coast to supply Klabin’s packaging plants in the North and Northeast regions of the country. This system, known as coastal shipping, brings gains in road safety and sustainability by removing thousands of trucks from the roads, consequently reducing carbon emissions. This mode also enables the Company to maintain more competitive costs.
